The Cotswolds are basically made for picture-perfect moments! Those honey-colored villages, the rolling hills… seriously, it’s like stepping into a postcard. And trust me, you’ll want to remember your trip, so don’t be shy about snapping a few selfies (I always do!). It’s the perfect way to capture those cozy Cotswolds vibes.

But where are the best places to take a selfie in the Cotswolds? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Here are five of the most Instagrammable spots in the region:

Bourton-on-the-Water

This picturesque village is known as the “Venice of the Cotswolds” because of its many waterways. The Old Mill Bridge is a particularly popular spot for selfies, as it offers stunning views of the village and the River Windrush.

Bibury

Another picture-perfect village, Bibury is home to Arlington Row, a row of honey-colored cottages that have been featured in countless films and TV shows. No trip to the Cotswolds would be complete without a selfie here!

Broadway Tower

This 60-foot tower offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. On a clear day, you can see for miles! Just be careful not to get blown over by the wind – it can be quite strong up there!

Painswick Beacon

This hilltop viewpoint offers another set of stunning views, this time of the Malvern Hills and the Severn Valley. It’s a bit of a hike to get to the top, but it’s worth it for the views.

The Slaughters

These two villages, Upper Slaughter and Lower Slaughter, are named after the River Slaughter that runs through them. They’re both very pretty, and there are plenty of opportunities to take a selfie with a babbling brook in the background.

Of course, these are just a few of the many selfie hotspots in the Cotswolds. There are plenty of other beautiful places to take a photo, so get out there and explore!

Tips for taking great selfies in the Cotswolds

  • Get the lighting right. Try to avoid taking selfies in direct sunlight, as this can make you look squinty. Early morning or late afternoon light is usually best.
  • Find a good background. There are so many beautiful places in the Cotswolds, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a stunning backdrop for your selfie.
  • Use a selfie stick. This can help you get a better angle and get more people in the shot.
  • Be creative! Don’t just stand there and smile. Get down low, get up high, get close to your subject. There are endless possibilities for creative selfies in the Cotswolds.

Just remember to relax, have fun, and capture the beauty of this special place.

Happy snapping!
